United Buddy Bears in Ljubljana

United Buddy Bears arrive in Ljubljana, marking a significant cultural event as the city hosts "The Art of Tolerance" exhibition for the first time. From May 29 to July 17, the Square of the Republic has turned into a vibrant display of 145 two-metre-tall bears, each extending their arms in a gesture of friendship and optimism, symbolizing the unity among nations. Among these bears stands the newly painted Slovenian bear, a creation by the talented artist Luka Rep, a student of the Academy of Visual Arts AVA in Ljubljana and a recipient of a scholarship from the City of Ljubljana.

The inclusion of the Slovenian bear in the United Buddy Bears exhibition underscores the city's commitment to promoting tolerance and cultural diversity. Originating from Berlin in 2001, the Buddy Bear project has evolved into a global symbol of friendship and optimism, encouraging dialogue and understanding among nations.
