Ljubljana Launches Digital System for E-Permits for Tourist Buses

Starting Monday, May 13, Ljubljana will implement a cutting-edge digital system for issuing e-permits for tourist buses. As part of the new protocol, operators will be required to schedule appointments for passenger drop-offs and pickups at designated entry and exit points.

Ljubljana Launches Digital System for E-Permits for Tourist Buses

Operated through an application accessible on the Ljubljana Tourism website, the digital e-permit system aims to streamline the process for tourist buses. Users can reserve 15-minute time slots to facilitate smooth transitions for guests at 11 designated drop-off points situated near the city center. These points include Bleiweisova cesta, Ilirska ulica, Miklošičeva ulica, Železna and Roška cesta.

For the remainder of 2024, permits for entry-exit points will be issued free of charge. However, beginning in 2025, fees will be introduced.

The implementation of the e-permit system aligns with Ljubljana's objectives to enhance traffic flow and improve citizens' quality of life. Additionally, it aims to optimize the visitor experience for tourists arriving in the capital via bus. Upon dropping off passengers, operators are encouraged to utilize P+R parking lots or park along Bratislavska cesta.
