Countdown to the Tour of Slovenia: A Month to Go

With just one month remaining until the highly anticipated Slovenian cycling holiday, the Tour of Slovenia gears up for its milestone 30th edition, set to unfold from June 12 to 16. The event promises to unite past champions, cycling aficionados and enthusiasts from Slovenia and its neighbouring countries, spotlighting the nation's power as a cycling powerhouse on the global stage.

Countdown to the Tour of Slovenia: A Month to Go

The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), a race partner for seven years, has played a pivotal role in elevating Slovenia's profile as a top destination for active holidays, cycling experiences, and sports training. Working with the ambassadors of Slovenian tourism, including Primož Roglič and Tadej Pogačar, it increases Slovenia's visibility as a hub for top cyclists and home of world's best athletes.

On Tuesday, May 7, a press conference held in Rogaška Slatina unveiled the plans for the 30th Tour of Slovenia, marking the event's 10th edition hosted by the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina. Among the speakers were Branko Kidrič, the mayor of Rogaška Slatina, along with the director of the race, Bogdan Fink, and the representative of the Slovenian Tourist Board, Aleksandra Lipej.

Mayor MSc. Branko Kidrič emphasized the symbiotic relationship between sports and tourism, underscoring Rogaška Slatina's pioneering efforts in developing extensive cycling infrastructure since 2003. Today, boasting 35 kilometers of diverse cycling paths and a comprehensive brochure of 15 routes of varying difficulty levels, the municipality offers an inviting landscape for cyclists of all ages and abilities.

 

Throughout the Tour of Slovenia, the Slovenian Tourist Board will spotlight Slovenia's nature and its allure as a top destination for active enthusiasts, captivating audiences worldwide through the Eurosport TV network. The long-standing partnership, which includes TV and digital advertising, has attracted more than 56 million TV viewers, in the last year alone more than 10 million. This year, too, by using innovative digital marketing tools, the STB aims to captivate audiences with  images of Slovenian landscapes, increasing the visibility of the 'I feel Slovenia' brand.This year, too, the cooperation is enhanced by innovative digital marketing tools that will bring the images of the participating destinations, from Murska Sobota, through Celje to Ljubljana and Nova Gorica, and to the royal stage on Krvavec and the traditional finish in Novo mesto, and the 'I feel Slovenia' brand closer to fans of attractive cycling landscapes. The visibility will be further strengthened by TV advertising on the Eurosport 1 and 2 programs, which includes 230 advertisements, half of them in the primetime slots. Part of the TV advertising will take place during Giro D'Italia and Tour de France. A prize game is also a special novelty, which will further strengthen the interactive digital content and channels of the I feel Slovenia brand.

Elite Teams and Defending Champion Set to Shine at Tour of Slovenia

As the 30th edition of the Tour of Slovenia approaches, excitement mounts with the revelation of the starting lineup. 7 world teams of the highest rank, 23 cycling teams in total, will navigate Slovenia's demanding terrain during the renowned 5-day cycling race. Among them will be also Primož Roglič and Tadej Pogačar, the ambassadors of Slovenian tourism. Adding to the anticipation, reigning gravel cycling champion Matej Mohorič will also vie for victory, ensuring a thrilling spectacle for spectators and participants alike.
