Boštjan Noč is the First President of the European Beekeeping Association

The Electoral Assembly of the European Beekeeping Association (EBA), which brings together 18 beekeeping organizations from 15 European countries, representing 234,461 beekeepers, took place on April 22nd. A key agenda item was the election of the EBA president, with Boštjan Noč from Slovenia winning unanimously.

The Electoral Assembly of the European Beekeeping Association (EBA), headquartered in Slovenia, took place on 22 April, marking a significant moment in the organization's history. Prior to the Assembly, 18 beekeeping organizations from 15 European countries had united under the EBA, representing a collective of 234,461 beekeepers.

Amongst the key agenda items was the election of the EBA president, with two distinguished candidates: Dr. Plamen Ivanov from Bulgaria and Boštjan Noč from Slovenia. Boštjan Noč secured a unanimous victory, receiving 100% of the votes from the attending delegates.

Expressing gratitude for the confidence placed in him, newly elected President Boštjan Noč emphasized the imperative of unified action across Europe to advance the interests of bees, beekeepers, and consumers. He also underscored the immediate formation of a scientific committee focused on the quality and safety of bee products, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary expertise from across Europe.
