Tartini Bis: Preserving Tartini's Legacy Through Digitalization

Celebrating the 332nd anniversary of composer Giuseppe Tartini's birth, the Tartini Bis project was launched at his birthplace in Piran. The initiative aims to enhance cultural tourism and foster greater synergy within the community.

Tartini Bis: Preserving Tartini's Legacy Through Digitalization

The Tartini Bis project will digitally preserve Tartini's and his pupils' heritage from across Europe, enriching the discovertartini.eu website with musical, scientific and historical records. This endeavour is expected to foster a cross-border youth orchestra, expand the Tartini&friends cultural-tourist trail and host musical events.

Already in the 18th century Tartini, born in Piran, established the School of Nations for European violinists  and thus embodied a spirit of European unity.

Part of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia programme and building upon the tARTini project, Tartini Bis is led by the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory of Music in Trieste, with partners including the Municipality of Piran, the Italian Union and others. At the project launch, professors and students from the Trieste Conservatory performed Tartini's compositions. Celebrating Tartini's 332nd birthday, events included a workshop in Venice, a presentation of Tartini's Musical Treatise and a concert at the Tartini Theatre in Piran featuring the Venice Baroque Orchestra and violinist Michael Oman.
