A new family experience in Koper: the Giants of Istria

The Giants of Istria is a new comprehensive and independent green tourism product made possible by the Municipality of Koper and the Koper Youth, Culture and Tourism Board in cooperation with the Škrateljc Institute. This innovative experience begins at the parking lot of the Jakomin Farm in Kubedo, guiding visitors through the charming village before ascending the well-marked path to the Lačná hill.

Offering flexibility, visitors can explore at their leisure or opt for one of the guided walks, scheduled to occur at least once monthly. The eagerly anticipated official opening is set for Easter Monday, 1 April, accompanied by the inaugural guided walk on Saturday, 24 February at 11 am. (Pre-registration is required at: rezervacije@skrateljc.org).

The fairy tale walk offers an engaging and interactive experience for children. As they embark on the trail and collect the enchanting "velebele," young adventurers uncover the hidden secrets of Istria, a land brimming with captivating scents, verdant flora, and an array of captivating stories nestled amidst the slopes of Lačná. To add to the excitement, before beginning their journey, children have the opportunity to delve into the charming picture book "2 Goats and 3 Istrian Ones," authored by Uroš Grilc and illustrated by Polona Drašler. Books are available for purchase at the Koper Tourist Information Centre on Tito Square and at the Jakomin Farm in Kubedo.
