The Sitarjevec mine in Litija stands out as one of the most prominent tourist attractions across the entire Zasavje region. Renowned for the diverse and vibrant display of minerals, many of which sparkle with a unique charm, the mine attracts numerous visitors, particularly during the festive season.

Since the mine opened its doors to tourists in 2017, it has been showcasing a distinctive mineral nativity scene every December, captivating audiences with the artistry of local talents. The Christmas story unfolds against the backdrop of the mine's mineral treasures. Together with the LILA art atelier in Litija, this year's rendition incorporates images depicting the labour of miners and, for the first time, sheds light on the equally challenging work undertaken by women in the ore separation process.

The Nativity scene in the Sitarjevec mine in Litija will be open from Tuesday, December 26, to Saturday, December 30, between 4 pm and 7 pm, inviting all to delve into the festive spirit.
