Wizz Air's exciting new route: Ljubljana Airport to Skopje connection

Wizz Air is set to broaden its flight offerings from Ljubljana Airport. On September 27, the airline unveiled its latest route connecting Ljubljana to Skopje, with flights available twice a week every Wednesday and Sunday. With this launch, Wizz Air now boasts five low-cost carrier connections departing from Ljubljana Airport.

The Ljubljana-Skopje route will operate year-round with flights scheduled twice a week, deploying a 230-seat Airbus A321 aircraft. Travelers can select from Wizz Air's flights to London Luton Airport, in addition to the newly introduced Skopje route. Other options include Transavia flights to Amsterdam, Transavia France flights to Paris, and easyJet flights to London Gatwick.

Tickets for flights to Skopje are available on Wizz Air's website, with prices starting as low as 24.99 euros for a one-way ticket.

With 23 regular flight connections serviced by 19 carriers in the summer timetable, Ljubljana Airport continues to serve as a vital gateway to and from Slovenia. The airport offers an array of destinations, making it an ideal choice for travelers in the region and beyond.

  • AirBaltic recently announced a new connection for the next summer schedule. From May 2024, it will fly to Riga from Ljubljana airport twice a week.

In the period from January to August 2023, Ljubljana Airport welcomed an impressive 832,000 passengers, representing a substantial increase of 32 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. This growth trend continued into August, with more than 146,000 passengers passing through the airport, marking a nearly 20 percent surge compared to August 2022. A significant milestone was reached on September 14, coinciding with the establishment of Luxair's new connection to Luxembourg when the airport celebrated its 900,000th passenger of the year. As the year unfolds, the airport remains confident in its ability to serve over 1.2 million passengers, further solidifying its role as a thriving transport hub.
