Koroška welcomes you as a safe and exciting destination

Koroška welcomes you as a safe and exciting destination

In the past week, Koroška launched a special campaign in partnership with the Slovenian Tourist Board, named "Vzemi si čas. Za Koroško. Moja Slovenija. (Take your time. For Carinthia. My Slovenia.)". The campaign's main message is that after recent floods, life in Koroška continues normally, and tourist services are operating smoothly. Also main transportation connections in Koroška have been fully restored.

Three weeks have passed since the significant natural disaster that affected parts of Koroška. However, life continues, and the majority of tourist service providers want to emphasize that the region remains safe and inviting.

The enchanting Ribnica na Pohorju is a paradise for hikers and cyclists alike.

While cycling opportunities in Koroška are somewhat reduced this year, the region remains an exceptional cycling destination with diverse options for enthusiasts.

Updates on the current status of the two most popular cycling routes:

  1. Drava Cycling Route

The Dravograd - Radlje ob Dravi stage is affected by a closure on the Dravograd - Trbonje section. A detour is arranged along the main road Dravograd - Maribor.

  1. Štrekna – Cycling Route through Mislinja Valley:

Despite flooding in parts of Štrekna, cyclists continue to enjoy the route. Caution is advised at the temporary bridge in Otiški Vrh. The popular Štrekna bus service is set to resume in September after a one-month break.

Pohorje offers safe mountain biking trails, including the mountain bike park in Jamnica above Prevalje.

Hiking trails in the western Pohorje region are generally accessible, but it's recommended to check with local tourist information offices.

If you are planning on visiting Koroška, it is advisable to consult local tourist information offices for essential information and recommendations.
