Avoid going to the mountains if the conditions are unsuitable
In many places throughout Slovenia, due to floods and landslides, a state of emergency is in effect, making various activities in the mountainous regions completely unnecessary. Alpine Association of Slovenia advises against visiting mountains and hills in such conditions. Multiple hiking and mountaineering trails are closed or obstructed.

Emergency services are still heavily burdened and are prioritizing essential rescue operations. Alpine Association of Slovenia urges everyone to refrain from mountain activities in the current conditions and to avoid unnecessary risks, and to prevent additional strain on rescue and medical personnel.
Numerous mountain huts are closing their doors due to unfavorable conditions, certain hiking trails have become impassable, and due to the waterlogged ground, additional landslides are expected to occur later. Therefore, visiting the mountains is an extremely risky activity and we strongly advide against it.
