Freediver Alenka Artnik sets a new milestone with a 111-metre dive
Freediver Alenka Artnik set a new record in the Bahamas' Vertical Blue competition, accomplishing an impressive 111-meter dive in the double fin (CWTB) discipline, which lasted astonishing three minutes and 41 seconds.

On the third day of the competition at Dean's Blue Hole in the Bahamas, Slovenian freediver Alenka Artnik set both a national and personal record by diving 107 metres. Demonstrating her incredible determination, three days later, she surpassed her own achievement by going two metres deeper, securing a new world record. On the ninth day of the competition, Artnik continued her pursuit of excellence and pushed the limits even further, reaching an astonishing depth of 111 metres. The dive lasted 3 minutes and 41 seconds. She spent just under two minutes at the 111-metre mark before gracefully resurfacing to a chorus of applause from the gathered representatives and judges.
Beyond her passion for breaking records, Alenka Artnik attributes her success to the importance of well-being and relaxation. Her profound connection to the sea, which has been a part of her life since childhood, and the unique thermal waters of Slovenia have played a significant role in shaping her as a top athlete.
