Discover a new cycling-focused hostel in Kropa: Bajta Kropar'ca

Thanks to a new investment by Matija Blažič, the owner of the Ribno Family Hotel and the Cycling Village in Ribno, a new hostel called Bajta Kropar'ca opened its doors in Kropa.

Blažič renovated one of the oldest carter's houses in Kropa, situated next to a picturesque stream, and transformed it into a hostel called Bajta Kropar'ca. This charming hostel now offers 38 beds, a common area, a mini wellness area, a terrace overlooking the stream, a bike room, and bike rental services. The tranquil location makes it an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling enthusiasts. The hostel operates according to green business guidelines, ensuring an environmentally friendly experience for its guests. It specializes in catering to the needs of cyclists, providing facilities such as a bike shop and storage.

Kropa is a historic market town known for its ironworks houses and blacksmithing heritage, but it should not only be regarded as such: the area also holds great potential for the development of outdoor activities, particularly in the lesser-known Lipnica Valley. As part of these plans, there are future initiatives to build a cycle park on the local ski slope in Kamna Gorica.

Kropa is strategically located along one of Slovenia's prominent mountain biking trails that connects various towns and natural sites, including Radovljica, Begunje, Lipnica Valley, Žirovnica, and Bled. Additionally, this year Kropa joined the Slovenia Green Gourmet Route, a long-distance cycling route that showcases destinations with the Slovenia Green label, highlighting local gastronomy, hiking, and cycling experiences. The route connects Kropa via Jamnik to Kranj and Radovljica, further enhancing the connectivity and appeal of the region.

With Bajta Kropar'ca and the focus on cycling tourism, Kropa is poised to attract a new wave of visitors who appreciate both the cultural heritage of the town and the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
