Next week will be marked by the Tour of Slovenia

Between 14 and 18 June, the Tour of Slovenia will host more than 20 of the world's top cycling teams in the battle for the green jersey. The race will start in Celje and pass Rogaška Slatina, Žalec, Ormož, Grosuplje, Postojna, Ljubljana, Kobarid and Vrhnika before finishing in Novo mesto.

The Slovenian Tourist Board, in partnership with the organiser of the race, Adria Mobil Cycling Club, has made a significant contribution over the past six years to raising the international profile of the race, Slovenia and the destinations hosting the starts and finishes of the stages. Over the recent years, The Tour of Slovenia has been watched by more than 46 million spectators only on Eurosport. This year, the race will be broadcast on both Eurosport and TV Slovenia for 2 hours every day. More than 10 million spectators are expected to watch the race on TV.

More details

From the end of the Giro D'Italia until the beginning of the Tour de France, the two biggest cycling races in the world, the STB is also advertising Slovenia on Eurosport as a destination for active outdoor holidays and a sporting country, as well as the 10 destinations hosting the starts and finishes of this year's Tour of Slovenia. The STB's TV advertising is complemented by digital advertising on eurosport.com and digital content marketing on its own digital channels.

The 10 hosting destinations will be featured in TV broadcasts on Eurosport with special promotional videos highlighting Slovenia's beauty, active adventures and natural and cultural attractions.

Destinations and fans cannot wait for the Tour of Slovenia to start

The destinations hosting the starts and finishes of the five stages of the Tour of Slovenia are already organising various recreational and fan activities, which will culminate between 14 and 18 June. With cycling competitions for the youngest, creative workshops and a number of accompanying activities, fans will enjoy the Tour of Slovenia all day long. Last year, the Slovenian cycling fan fever peaked on the climb to Velika Planina, when more than 80,000 fans gathered. This year's royal stage of the Slovenian Pentathlon will take place on Saturday, 17 June 2023, on the stage from Ljubljana to Kobarid, finishing with the legendary climb to Kolovrat.
