Vote for Maribor @European Best Destination 2023 competition

21 destinations in Europe have been shortlisted for European Best Destination 2023. Among them is also Maribor. Make your vote count and help Maribor win.

In partnership with the EDEN network – Sustainable destinations awarded by the European Commission, the 14th edition of the European Best Destinations started on 20 January with 21 days of online voting (1 vote per day per IP address is possible). Results will be published on 10 February at 4PM Brussels Local Time.

Among more than 400 EU destinations promoted on the most visited website dedicated to culture and tourism in Europe www.europeanbestdestinations.com, 21 destinations have been shortlisted among the "European Best Destinations". The selection is based on the cultural and touristic offer of the destinations as well as their quality of life, their sustainable development and growth of popularity on social networks during the past 12 months. Among them is also Maribor, Slovenia's second largest city.

The 20 most voted destinations will enjoy a global promotion on the most visited website dedicated to tourism in Europe (for 9 years in a row now): www.europeanbestdestinations.com. As selected destinations they will also be highlighted among the best destinations in Europe by media partners such as Forbes USA, Condé Nast, Yahoo, Corriere Viaggi, Geo.

During the voting period, the Maribor Tourism Board will run a digital advertising campaign "Vote for Maribor" and invite tourism stakeholders and partner organisations to support the vote. The overarching message of the campaign "Maribor is the best destination in 2023" is used with an attractive and entertaining promotional video to encourage people to visit the European Capital of Culture, the city of the Guinness World Record oldest vine and a great gastronomic and outdoor destination.
