Plans to build a spa among the vineyards in Brda
Construction of a five-storey hotel and hotel-thermal complex in Goriška Brda will start next spring.

With green vineyards, olive groves, orchards and romantic villages, the rolling hills of the Goriška Brda remind a little bit of Italian Tuscany. In addition to a range of top winemakers and an exceptional gastronomic offer, the region will also become a thermal destination: in two years, the first and only thermal spa in the area is expected to open.
After 20 years of battling bureaucratic mills, a coronavirus epidemic and the search for a serious investor, the life project of the mayor of Bresla, Franco Mužič, who has been working for four terms to finally bring the idea of a Brda spa to life, seems to be just beginning. BHR Resort in nepremičnine, d.o.o., a company based in Nova Gorica, entered the project as an investor in the spring and has already started buying land and obtaining permits. As Matej Lah, the company's director, announced at the presentation of the project in Vila Vipolže, they are now waiting for the building permit, and if they manage to get it by spring, Brda Spa Resort could be completed two years later.
Glamping units dug into the terrain
Brda Spa Resort, a five-storey hotel and thermal complex with 17 glamping sites added, will be built in the middle of vineyards on Kozlink Hill between Dobrova, Medana and Fojana. The 92-room luxury hotel, which will feature 54 standard rooms and 38 suites and the glamping units on the bank below, will preserve the terraced shape of the vineyards that have graced the landscape for more than 2 000 years.
The thermal part of the complex will include a modern wellness centre, with three outdoor and three indoor pools, various saunas, massage and other therapy rooms, holistic clinics, hydro-pools, mud baths, a fitness and relaxation area, and a conference centre. The investor guarantees that the complex will be built in a sustainable way and will involve the local community, as this is the only way for visitors to Spa Resort Brda to experience Goriška Brda in all its beauty.
