La Vuelta 2022: the ambassador of Slovenian tourism chasing a historic victory
The current Olympic champion and the ambassador of Slovenian tourism, Primož Roglič, is participating at La Vuelta, aiming to win it for the forth time in a row. No one in history has succeeded doing so before him.

In 2019, Primož Roglič took part in La Vuelta for the first time and won. He also won in 2020 and 2021. Along with the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, La Vuelta is the highlight of the cycling season. This year's 77th edition of the race will start in the Netherlands on Friday 18 August and end on 11 September in Madrid.
So far, Roglič has won the race three times in a row, thus becoming one of only four cyclists in the world to have won three times. With his fourth victory, Roglič would equal the number of laurels with the Spanish cyclist Roberto Heras, but if he could do it for the fourth time in a row, he would become the only cyclist in the world to win the race in Spain four times in a row.
Roglič's Jumbo Visma team appointed the Slovenian cycling champion as captain for the race in Spain. The team believes that he has excellent assistants by his side who will do everything for Roglič to set a new milestone in world cycling.
