Between July 28 and 31, the tournament of the renewed Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures series, which is a real volleyball spectacle, will take place in Ljubljana. As many as 160 pairs from 38 countries, which is the record number of participants, shows that Slovenia is a renowned destination on the world map of beach volleyball. Not only because of the iconic venue in the city centre and the top-notch organization, but also because of the desire of the players to return again and again to this green and boutique destination, which offers a range of other activities and experiences in addition to the competition itself.

According to the rules of the International Volleyball Federation, only the 32 highest-ranked doubles on the world rankings in men's and women's competition will be able to compete for the prestigious victory in Ljubljana. Slovenian sports fans will also be able to cheer on seven Slovenian couples who already won a number of awards on home soil. The competition will start with Thursday's qualifiers in Ludus in Črnuče, while the finals will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Congress Square.

As part of the World Series tournament, the final of the national youth championship will traditionally take place, where Slovenian volleyball youngsters will compete for the titles of national champions and champions in three age categories. On August 1, the grand final of the Open Championship in sitting and standing beach volleyball will take place in the centre of Ljubljana. The championship has returned to Ljubljana after last year's successful premiere in Europe. 70 para-volleyball players from 12 countries will take part in the event.

Beach volleyball, which is mostly played on beaches and other natural sandy venues, is considered one of the most sustainable sports. The organizers upgraded this year's event with free transportation for all competition participants.

The Slovenian Tourist Board recognizes the importance of such events, which enhance the image of Slovenia as an excellent destination for active recreation and training of athletes and strengthens the value of the I feel Slovenia brand.
