Planica FIS Ski Jumping World Cup this year finally with live audience

From 24 to 27 March, Planica will once again host the grand final of the Ski Jumping World Cup. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the event live.

16 teams with 72 ski jumpers have registered to participate. Qualifications took place on Thursday, while individual competitions are planned for Friday and Sunday, and a team competition for Saturday. On Friday and Sunday, the 30 best ski jumpers will compete, and on Saturday, 8 national teams will fight for a place on the winning podium.

Slovenia will compete with a basic quota of 7 competitors and an additional national quota of 6 competitors. This year was truly amazing for Slovenian ski jumpers. Women have reached as many as 35 podiums this year, which is definitely a record. The four-medal Olympics were also historic. And now Slovenians can’t wait to cheer for them at the grand final in Planica. In addition to the large number of live spectators, the organizers are also striving to set a new world record. They pinpointed that the ski jump is optimally prepared, the weather forecast is currently very optimistic, with relatively high temperatures, which brings a good buoyancy wind.

The event is expected to be watched by around 30 million viewers worldwide. The competition will be broadcast live on television in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, the USA, Japan, China and others. Planica is also entering the crypto-world by auctioning the first edition of the Planica NFT Ski Jumpers Collection. The funds raised will go back to sports is planned. This is an exclusive and limited collection of unique hand-drawn portraits of the world's best ski jumpers.

Planica is one of the icons of Slovenia, and ski jumping in Planica is one of the most internationally recognized sporting events in Slovenia. The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) is aware of the importance of sports events that strengthen the value of the I feel Slovenia brand and upgrade the image of Slovenia as an excellent destination for active holidays and preparation of athletes.
