New Slovenia Green destinations: Murska Sobota, Krško and Portorož-Piran

With Krško, Porotorož-Piran and Murska Sobota joining, the Slovenia Green family now counts 58 member destinations and more than 130 providers. The STB strives to work with all the label holders as intensively as possible and in this way encourage the development of the environment and socially friendly tourism. For this purpose, the STB works with the Slovenia Green consortium, and continues to develop a project for the elimination of disposable plastic and work on guidelines for the introduction of green events through the initiative 'less plastic, more sustainability'. In addition, the STB works closely with green coordinators, who are crucial for introducing sustainable practices at destinations.

Krško has achieved an extremely good score and was awarded with the golden label of Slovenia Green Destination, they even scored so good that they were almost given the platinum label. All areas of operation were well assessed, above all the protection of natural and cultural heritage and the management of the destination.
