NEW in Kamnik! VR experience of Velika planina

A VR experience of the cultural heritage on Velika planina is part of the digitization project, co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the EU. From now on, you can virtually walk around Velika planina at the Kamnik Tourist Info Point.

The VR experience of Velika planina is available at Kamnik Tourist Info Point in the very centre of Kamnik. Digital innovation envisages four units of cultural heritage on Velika planina (Preskar hut, Zabršek hut, The Chapel of St. Mary of the Snowns and the herders' settlement), which are also part of the immovable cultural heritage. Once you enter the VR room, which is equipped with two screens (the larger one is touch-sensitive), you get a chance to experience a 360-degree flight over Velika planina.

Through a series of diverse contents, you will be guided around the beauties of Velika Planina, which is a unique herders' settlement in this part of Europe. Since Velika planina is a high mountain plateau, weather does not always allow the visit. However, this virtual experience will enable you to "visit" Velika planina even in the most extreme weather conditions.

The story of Velika planina has also be put on display at Expo 2020 in Dubai, where visitors to the Slovenian presentation pavilion will have a chance to digitally experience the cultural heritage of Velika planina with all their senses.
