Exceptional growth of foreign tourist overnight stays in July
According to the latest provisional statistical data for July 2021, foreign tourists generated 223% more arrivals and 228% more overnight stays than in June 2021.

The latest provisional data published on the webpage of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia are encouraging: in July 2021, tourist accommodation providers in Slovenia recorded just over 767,500 tourist arrivals and almost 2.3 million overnight stays. The ratio between the domestic and foreign tourist overnight stays was almost tied (domestic 54%, foreign 46%).
Compared to June 2021, tourist accommodation establishments recorded 105% more tourist arrivals and 124% more overnight stays in July 2021. Foreign tourists generated 223% more arrivals and 228% more overnight stays than in June 2021.
Most overnight stays among foreign tourists in July 2021 were generated by tourists from Germany (almost 222,200 or 21% of all foreign overnight stays). They were followed by tourists from Czechia (12%), Hungary (9%), Austria (9%), and the Netherlands (7%). They (foreign tourists) generated the most overnight stays in Piran (137,200 overnight stays), followed by Bled, Ljubljana, Bovec and Bohinj. They stayed mostly in hotels (32%).
