The 4th International Brda – Home of Rebula Wine Experience

The 4th edition of Masterclass Rebula will take place on 26 August in the spectacular Renaissance ambience of Villa Vipolže in the Brda wine-growing region.

The Masterclass will be led by Slovenia’s foremost wine expert Gašper Čarman, owner of a domestic wine distribution network, importer of foreign wines and Slovenia’s best sommelier in 2013 and 2015. He will be joined by Caroline Gilby, MW (UK), renowned author, writer and consultant specialising in Central and Eastern Europe. She is also an international wine judge and panel chair for Northern&Eastern Europe and the Balkans at Decanter World Wine Awards. During the vertical tasting, Caroline will discuss the specifics of three different and distinct Rebula wine styles.

Next to the Master Class Grand Vertical Tasting, the participants will have a chance to experience the very best bits of the region's gastronomy featuring also top chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants. Lunch will be served by Tomaž Kavčič, whose Zemono restaurant received one Michelin star, and the aperitif by Uroš Fakuč, another Michelin-starred chef. For the dinner, the participants will meet in the ambience of the Klinec Family estate, where they will have a chance to taste specially selected large format bottles of Rebula old vintages and dishes prepared by top local chef Uroš Klinec.

The event builds on a strong legacy. Past editions have regularly hosted numerous influential sommeliers and wine critics from the most renowned wine-related media, among them journalists that write for Wine Spectator, Decanter, Wines and Spirits etc. Slovenian Tourist Board recognizes potential of such internationally renowned events and proudly presents itself as one of the partners of the event.
