Danica Guesthouse in Bohinjska Bistrica

The owner of the Danica guesthouse is Bohinj Tourist Association, which has always strived to bring local nature, culture and traditions close to all visitors and guests. Successful operations and connection with the local environment have been held up as examples of best practice in sustainable tourism development. By building a guesthouse, another important milestone has been reached. Here, architecture reflects the stories from the area, which can be found in seven authentically designed rooms. Every room tells a story about Bohinj’s natural and cultural attractions – about the exceptional biodiversity and indigenous flora and fauna, the priceless richness of waters, and Bohinj’s tradition, buildings and art, as well as the important economic activities that have sustained the Bohinj people through the centuries. All accommodation capacities are characterised by modern interiors infused with pleasant homeliness. 

When you enter the Danica Guesthouse restaurant, you’ll immediately feel at home, thanks to cozy atmosphere and the details infused with Bohinj tradition. The restaurant has been furnished with products that originate from Slovenia, many of them made by local artisans. Extra warmth is guaranteed by the tiled fireplace which forms the heart of the restaurant. Next to splendid local gastronomy, the restaurant offers exceptional view of the surrounding mountain range. On cold days, the fireplace will pleasantly warm you as you look out onto the beautiful Julian Alps.
