Ljubljana on the TIME World’s Greatest Places list

TIME has revealed the third annual list of the World’s Greatest Places, which highlights 100 extraordinary travel destinations around the world. To compile this list, TIME solicited nominations of places—including countries, regions, cities and towns—from its international network of correspondents and contributors, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences.

Among them is also Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital. In the article, the city is referred to as "the culinary capital". The renowned magazine believes that the arrival of the first Michelin guide in 2020 represented a great milestone for Slovenian gastronomy. They highlight Atelje, the Michelin-starred restaurant in Ljubljana and also the Open Kitchen, as one of the most popular pop-up culinary venues in the city. Among the best novelties with regards to accommodation, they mention the environmentally friendly hostel Fuzzy Log and Cukrarna, a renovated 19th-century sugar refinery that will debut next year as a new multi-purpose cultural venue.
