Michelin about two Slovenian fine-dining stars in Vipava Valley, Tomaž Kavčič and Uroš Fakuč
The article unveils the vision of Slovenian gastronomy as seen through the eyes of two masterchefs, whose restaurants have been awarded with Michelin stars. The journalists have visited the restaurants last September.

We invite you to read the latest inspiring Michelin article about two Slovenian masterchefs, Uroš Fakuč and Tomaž Kavčič. While Kavčič's restaurant, Gostilna pri Lojzetu, is located in the very heart of Vipava Valley, Fakuč's fine-dining restaurant and a hotel named are set in Nova Gorica, at the Italian border. Both restaurants have been awarded with Michelin stars and this was also the reason that the Michelin journalists wished to get to know them better.
Tomaž Kavčič, known as an ever-smiling chef say's that "the guests' experience must include everything from hello to goodbye, it's not only about what's on the plate". His restaurant, Gostilna pri Lojzetu, is set in the seventeenth-century manor house of Zemono. What Kavčič likes to point out is the name of the restaurant - though fine-dining, Kavčič prefers to use the Slovenian expression Gostilna, as the word gost means guest in Slovenian.
Chef Uroš Fakuč is known for his exquisite sense of details, which "marvelously translates on the plates". He loves seafood and one could simply describe his style of cooking as "a modern mediterranean kitchen".
