The blooming daffodils on Golica Plateau – a one of a kind experience
May is the best time to visit Golica Plateau, which is covered in white in May, but not with snow; with blooming daffodils.

A special spring experience is the image of Golica, a peak in the western Karavanke Alps, which is covered with white blooming daffodils. Locals call these ključavnice. This year, reaching the plateau will be even easier, as special bus line has been arranged. Thus, during weekends, when most of people head for mountain hikes, the road to Planina pod Golico and Javorniški Rovt will be closed, but a free bus will drive visitors on the routes Jesenice – Planina pod Golico and Jesenice – Javorniški Rovt (Pristava). The bus will stop at all public passenger transport stops on its route.
"The measure of closing the road with a combination of bus transport will, on the one hand, enable a more environmentally friendly visit to sensitive nature, and on the other hand offer the visitor a friendlier and carefree visit," said Klemen Klinar from the Development Agency of Upper Gorenjska.
