The fact that the European Best Destinations organisation, which is part of the European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) networks, has recognized Ljubljana as a Coronavirus-safe destination to visit this Christmas is encouraging, as it builds the image of a responsible and safe destination, and at the same time promotes the city for the post-crisis period, when high safety and hygiene standards will be even more important.

Each year, European Best Destinations publishes a list of European cities with the most beautiful and best Christmas markets. This year, the evaluation process was tightened and the criteria adjusted to take into account the measures and the situation regarding Covid-19. Thus, the list has been shortened to the destinations, where strict health and hygiene rules are taken into account and guarantee a Coronavirus-safe visit. Ljubljana is among the 15 selected destinations. Presented as an immensely romantic destination, where visitors can relax and admire the festively decorated streets, Ljubljana invites you to visit between 27 November and 2 January, when the Christmas lightning and the Christmas market will enrich the daily hustle and bustle of the city.

The information has been picked up also by the renowned Forbes magazine, which proves that Slovenia is definitely a major player for overseas markets and that the efforts to promote the country as green, safe and clean have paid off.
