Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup

"The Slovenian venue returned to the World Cup circuit last year to much fanfare," writes Ric McLaughlin when he describes Maribor, the venue of this year's Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, in his article. The World Cup will take place 16–18 October.

The International Cycling Federation (UCI) recognized Maribor as a reliable partner and entrusted it with as many as two World Cup competitions in downhill mountain biking discipline. Thus, Maribor's Bike Park on Pohorje will host the world's best mountain bikers between 15 and 18 October, with both official trainings, being held on 15 and 17 October, and the races on 16 and 18 October.

This year, the tickets as well as further information are available exclusively on www.worldcup.si. For all those who will not be able to come to Maribor, the races will be broadcast live on the second channel of Television Slovenia.

Maribor is situated in the north-east, near the Austrian border, and is as such the largest city of Lower Styria. As with a lot of World Cup rounds, the track of the Mercedes-Benz UCI Moutain Bike World Cup is located in a ski resort; Maribor Pohorje. During summer months it is known as Pohorje Bike Park and in winter as a popular ski resort, which has also hosted FIS World Cup slalom racing.
