Slovenia on Netflix - have you seen the show?

Starting May 8, Netflix’s 182 million subscribers in 190 countries around the world have had an opportunity to watch the second season of the Restaurants on the Edge series. One of the episodes showcases also the natural, cultural and gastronomic features of Slovenia.

In the series, three renowned international gastronomy and design experts travel around the world and help restaurants improve the complete gastronomic experience they offer. Last year, Canadian chef and influencer Dennis Prescott, interior designer Karin Bohn and American chef and renowned expert in restaurant management Nick Liberato visited Slovenia and filmed an episode presenting the natural and cultural gems of Slovenia through gastronomy.

At the heart of the episode about Slovenia is the renovation of the Žmauc restaurant in Ljubljana. The hosts travel around Slovenia to get to know the gastronomic, cultural and natural features of the country and then incorporate these features into the renovation of the restaurant - each of them from their very own perspective. While in Slovenia, they meet Slovenian chef Bine Volčič, discover the Slovenian woodlands, learn about honey and apitherapy in Bled, visit the famous Predjama Castle and explore the village of Goče in the Vipava Valley. In Ljubljana they also visit the Metelkovo mesto Alternative Cultural Centre and the popular Open Kitchen (Odprta Kuhna) event.

Netflix is the world’s leading media operator and production company with over 182 million subscribers in more than 190 countries. It offers TV series, documentary films and feature films in a wide variety of genres and languages. Subscribers can watch content without a time limit, anytime and anywhere, on any screen connected to the internet.
