Pri Lojzetu – Zemono Castle receives Green Key ecolabel
With its green policy and sustainable operation, Pri Lojzetu – Zemono Castle in Vipava Valley has joined the ranks of establishments boasting the Green Key ecolabel.

The innovation of Chef Tomaž Kavčič knows no boundaries. He is a master at combining local tradition and flavours of his native Vipava Valley, which won him the 2017 JRE (Jeunes Restaurateurs) Award for most innovative European chef.
The running of Pri Lojzetu – Zemono Castle, where Tomaž Kavčič does his culinary magic, was subject to a sustainability examination based on Green Key, the leading international standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry, which the restaurant received at the end of March after successfully completing the certification process.
The Green Key ecolabel guarantees all guests that they help protect the environment by choosing a certified tourist facility. Upon acquiring the ecolabel, Pri Lojzetu – Zemono Castle also affirmed its commitment to maintaining high environmental and sustainable standards as do the other certificate holders, demonstrated with the required documentation and checks. The Green Key programme places a considerable emphasis on spreading information, raising awareness and engaging visitors and other stakeholders in sustainable and environmentally-friendly measures. The sustainability certificate is also a prerequisite for service providers to be included in the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism, a national programme and certification scheme under the umbrella brand Slovenia Green.
