POSTPONED! The countdown: Texas feels Slovenia

*****TEXAS FEELS DALLAS EVENT IS POSTPONED*****

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia adviced to postpone all non-necessary travels abroad due to today's statement by the National Institute of Public Health that the risk of transmission of the new corona virus in Slovenia is increasing. Therefore, all participating institutions have decided to postpone the Texas Feels Slovenia business conference in Dallas until autumn.

Slovenia has partnered up with the Dallas Mavericks basketball club to enhance the visibility of the country in the States, and to present the country as a unique destination in terms of economy, investment possibilities and tourism. Next week, 20 Slovenian tourism companies will travel to Dallas to the Slovenian sport and business event of the year.

Slovenia has partnered up with the Dallas Mavericks basketball club to enhance the visibility of the country in the States, and to present the country as a unique destination in terms of economy, investment possibilities and tourism. Next week, 20 Slovenian tourism companies will travel there to show what it means to really “feel Slovenia”. Starting with the basketball on 11 March 2020, Texas will have its very first opportunity to feel Slovenia. This will be a true ‘I Feel Slovenia’ evening with some exciting Slovenian surprises before and during the game. Not only that this will be the official name of the game, Slovenia will also be represented on Dallas’ home court by two players; Luka Dončić from the Dallas Mavericks and Vlatko Čančar who plays for the Denver Nuggets.

The game will be brodcast by ESPN, which reached 212 million visitors per month. The statistics show that an average NBA game was watched by 1.5 million of viewers.

A day after, on 12 March, the ‘Texas Feels Slovenia’ business conference will take place at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. At the conference, Slovenian companies will have a chance to establish contacts with potential business partners in Texas and present Slovenia as a green boutique destination for visitors seeking diverse and active five-star experiences. Representatives from more than 20 tourist providers including Slovenian tour operators, tourist destinations and hotels will participate in the Slovenian Tourist Workshop, organised in the framework of the Business Conference.

In the past years, the STB has intensified activities in the US market, the most important incoming overseas market for Slovenian Tourism. Over the past ten years, the number of tourists from the US market has risen by 300 %.

The Slovenian government’s strategy defines the US as a priority market for an increase in the volume of trade, export market for Slovenian products and services, and a source of potential investors with sufficient capital and from the relevant industries.
