NEW! Piran hiking trails

Autumn brought the opening of the three new circular hiking trails on the Slovenian coast. A total of 28 kilometres of well-maintained picturesque paths will enable you to get to know the most beautiful spots in Portorož, Piran, Seča and Strunjan.

Three new hiking trails on the Slovenian coast (Piran Trail, Seča Trail and Strunjan Trail) will lead you to diverse and picturesque places, which offer spectacular views of incredible landmarks, including the timeless salt pans, the highest flysch hill in the Adriatic, the photogenic Moon's Bay and many others.

You will have a chance to walk through forests, the medieval town of Piran, to the Strunjan Landscape Park, by the lake in Fiesa, past the imposing sculptures of Forma Viva and along the Parenzana narrow gauge railway trail.

The starting point for all the three trails is in Portorož. From here, you can opt for a hike towards Piran, Strunjan or Seča. The trails range from seven to twelve kilometres and each of them can be accomplished in two to three hours. Thus, the trails are suitable for families with children as well.

The paths are safe, well-maintained and marked. Nine large information boards, several smaller signs along the paths and direction marks on the ground were installed along the trails to give you the best possible conditions for the hike.

Grap your own copy of the trail map at tourist info points in Portorož, Piran and Padna, or check them out online. The paths will also be published in GPX format so they can be accessed through mobile devices. The most scenic spots lalong the paths will be revealed next year.
