Art Circle: Brda International Visual Arts Festival

ART CIRCLE / Art Embassies is a project in which artists from various countries work with wine-growing estates and hotels from the regions of Goriška Brda and Vipava valley, create art and exhibit their works. Wine-producers, at whose estates the artists live and create, are among the best in Slovenia. This year, the project took place 13 – 18 October. There were as many as 15 art embassies that hosted 73 artists from several different countries. 

The project was this year for the first time supported also by the Slovenian Tourist Board, who brought several journalists and bloggers from abroad to the event. The main reason to support the event was the fact that the project is suitable for promotion of the area also in terms of tourism development, more precisely the development of cultural tourism in the Goriška Brda and the Vipava Valley. The art works, which were created during this one-week long event, are from the official opening event on 18 October on display for another four months at Villa Vipolže, a living monument to cultural heritage. In addition, these regions, especially from the point of view of wine and gastronomic tourism, conceal a great potential, which was also confirmed by the great interest of the foreign media, bloggers and influencers that visited the event.
