Engaging talks about the essence of Slovenian culture
Dr Noah Charney is set to take the stage at the Slovenian stand at WTM on November 7, offering a captivating series of talks that delve deep into the vibrant tapestry of Slovenian culture. With his extensive knowledge and engaging storytelling, he will unlock the secrets of Slovenia's rich heritage, unveiling the hidden gems of its art, history, and traditions.
The event will kick off at 11 am GMT time with a conversation with the director of Tourism Ljubljana, MSc. Petra Stušek, followed by discussions on long-distance hiking trails in the Julian Alps—the Juliana Trail and the Alpe Adria Trail at 12:30 pm. Key participants in this conversation include Klemen Langus, Director of Bohinj Tourism, Tit Potočnik, Director of Triglav National Park, Rudolf Abraham, journalist and author of the Juliana Trail hiking guide, and Trevor Claringbold, Creative Director of Globetrotter TV.
The third discussion at 2 pm will focus on the old printing craft and handicraft workshops, featuring Marko Drpić from TipoRenesansa. The final conversation at 3:30 pm will focus on the European Capital of Culture 2025: Nova Gorica and Gorica.

Step into the past as Marko Drpič from tipoRenesansa studio, a true artisan, wields 60-year-old manual typesetting tools and an ancient printing press. Witness the magical fusion of art and craftsmanship as he demonstrates the meticulous craft of two-colour printing with materials thoughtfully sourced from non-native invasive plants, aligning with principles of sustainability.
Slovenia's culinary excellence in the spotlight
In the recent years, Slovenia has risen in popularity among gourmands and foodies, also thanks to the prestigious Michelin Guide, which has solidified Slovenia's global culinary presence. With an impressive number of 9 Michelin-starred restaurants, including one with three stars and another with two, along with seven one-star restaurants, Slovenia stands among the 146 countries with three-star recognition. Remarkably, only 8 of these restaurants are led by female chefs and Ana Roš from Hiša Franko is among them.

The Ultimate Julian Alps Sensory Adventure
At WTM 2022, the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) in cooperation with Julian Alps presented the first one time event promoted with a new NFT (non-fungible token) collection: The Ultimate Julian Alps Sensory Adventure powered by blockchain technology as tourism promotion activity. The NFTs were issued in a limited edition as unique digital souvenirs for selected journalists, who were able to utilise them by attending the unique one in time event in Julian Alps in May 2023.
City Nation Place Global
Following the WTM, the City Nation Place Global conference will take place in London on November 9. As part of a digitalisation and AI in tourism panel, the STB will unveil the Ultimate Julian Alps Sensory Adventure project.

The launch of a new, innovative exhibition space
At the WTM London, Slovenia will present a new concept of the central exhibition space, which paves the way for the integration of cutting-edge technologies and embodies sustainability, inclusivity, and forward-thinking. Adorned with contemporary LED panels, it will showcase top videos with elements of artificial intelligence. This new and exciting approach promises to elevate the visibility of Slovenian tourism, sparking greater reach across social networks.
Additionally, a new lounge area is being introduced, designed to inspire advanced presentations, conversations, or gatherings in harmony with sustainable principles.
