Slovenia receives two awards for its promotional activities in China

The Slovenian Tourist Board and the Croatian Tourist Board have been carrying out joint promotional activities in the Chinese market for many years and this is why they received the CWT Award (The Chinese Tourist Welcome Award) at the ITB China in May, which was given out for the sixteenth consecutive year by COTRI (China Outbound Tourism Research Institute) in the category ‘Best practice solutions on how to attract and satisfy Chinese visitors around the world’. They upgraded their cooperation this year with additional activities, for which they received funds from the European Travel Commission within the EU–China Tourism Year programme (Thematic Transnational Promotional Campaigns for the Promotion of Destination Europe), and they carried out the ‘Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia’ promotional campaign.

Furthermore, the Slovenian Tourist Board also received an award in the ‘Internet & Media’ category at ITB China in Shanghai for its communications activities in the Chinese WeChat social network.

There is still an ongoing educational course, for which there is much interest from Chinese tour operators and travel agents, who have included Slovenia and Croatia into their travel programmes or still wish to do so. From when the online training was launched on 20 March and until the end of May, the online training course was completed by 398 travel agents, who were given the title 'Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia Travel specialist’.
