Hiša Franko Presents the International Culinary Series Forces of Nature

This year, Hiša Franko, with the support of the Slovenian Tourist Board, will host Forces of Nature, a new international culinary series that brings together some of the most influential names in contemporary gastronomy for an extraordinary collection of dining experiences in Slovenia.

Conceived as a celebration of creativity, terroir, and culinary authorship, the series will unfold through three exclusive four-hands dinners in Kobarid and the Soča Valley. Each evening will unite Ana Roš with a globally acclaimed chef whose cuisine reflects a distinctive cultural identity, philosophy, and relationship with nature.

As part of the series, Ana Roš cooperate in the frame of project Forses of Nature with Clare Smyth of Core by Clare Smyth in London, Eric Vildgaard of Jordnær in Copenhagen, and Himanshu Saini of Trèsind Studio in Dubai. All three guest chefs lead restaurants awarded three Michelin stars, positioning Forces of Nature among the most high-profile culinary collaborations in Slovenia in 2026.

Ana Roš × Clare Smyth — May 26, 2026

The opening dinner of the series took place on May 26, 2026, when Ana Roš welcomed Clare Smyth, one of the defining voices of modern British gastronomy, to Hiša Franko. Raised on a farm in County Antrim in Northern Ireland, Smyth shares with Ana Roš a profound respect for seasonality, ingredient provenance, and the relationship between cuisine and landscape.

Smyth is the first and only British female chef to earn three Michelin stars for her restaurant. Before establishing her own internationally recognised culinary identity, she built her career alongside renowned chefs Gordon Ramsay and Alain Ducasse.

The evening brought together two of the world’s most celebrated female chefs: Ana Roš, named The World’s Best Female Chef in 2017, and Clare Smyth, who received the same title the following year. Their collaboration became a dialogue between two culinary worlds shaped by precision, creativity, emotion, and a deep connection to nature.

The Series Continues in September and October 2026

Forces of Nature will continue on September 13, 2026, with Ana Roš × Eric Vildgaard, followed by Ana Roš × Himanshu Saini on October 13, 2026.

Each dinner is conceived as a standalone culinary experience, featuring an original collaborative menu and carefully curated pairings. Guests will be able to choose between a thoughtfully selected wine pairing and an equally sophisticated non-alcoholic alternative.

A Powerful Platform for Slovenian Gastronomy

The project represents an important contribution to the international visibility of Slovenian gastronomy and further strengthens Slovenia’s reputation as a destination where extraordinary nature, local ingredients, creativity, and fine dining come together in experiences of global significance.

By supporting projects such as Forces of Nature, the Slovenian Tourist Board continues to strengthen the international positioning of Slovenian gastronomy, foster connections with some of the world’s leading culinary creators, and promote Slovenia as a destination for discerning travellers seeking authenticity, sustainability, exceptional cuisine, and meaningful experiences.
