Hotel Plesnik Among the World’s Greatest Places 2026 by TIME

TIME lists Hotel Plesnik in Logar Valley to the prestigious The World’s Greatest Places 2026. The annual selection highlights 100 remarkable destinations around the world that stand out as exceptional places to visit or stay, celebrated for their distinctive character and memorable experiences.

The list is compiled from nominations submitted by TIME’s international network of correspondents and travel experts, as well as proposals from around the world. The final selection highlights destinations that are redefining tourism through their compelling stories, strong commitment to sustainability, or innovative guest experiences. In its description, TIME highlights Hotel Plesnik as a place where outstanding gastronomy evolves in close dialogue with the nature of Logar Valley.

Tucked into Slovenia’s remote Logar Valley, a protected glacial basin at the edge of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, Hotel Plesnik is quietly recasting the idea of alpine dining.

At Hotel Plesnik, the inclusion on the list is seen above all as recognition of the long-term efforts invested in developing a high-quality hospitality experience in the pristine landscape of Logar Valley. It is also viewed as an encouragement for the future, as the hotel continues to pursue new investments and improvements. “We receive this recognition with deep gratitude and sincere humility. At the same time, we feel a great responsibility – to respectfully preserve, develop and enrich the heritage entrusted to us in the years ahead,” emphasises Urška Kolar, the managing director of Hotel Plesnik.

The philosophy of Hotel Plesnik is rooted in the harmony of pristine nature, sustainability, well-being, tradition and outstanding gastronomy—elements that have in recent years become central pillars of the hotel’s identity.
