Slovenia Celebrates Food With Purpose

Every year on October 16, World Food Day reminds us of the power of food – food connect people, nourish communities and shape a more sustainable future. In Slovenia, food is a reflection of identity, landscape and respect for nature.

From the Alps to the Adriatic, Slovenian chefs, farmers and producers are united by a shared philosophy: food should be good for both people and the planet. Every region in Slovenia contributes its own flavours – from the mountain pastures of Gorenjska to the fertile plains of Prekmurje and the sunlit vineyards of the Mediterranean coast – yet all are guided by the same values of respect for nature and authenticity.
