Accessible tourism

Practical information and ideas for adventures and excursions in Slovenia for people with physical and other disabilities.

Accessible tourism

Slovenia is accessible for people with reduced mobility and other disabilities, and destinations and providers are striving to make their attractions and experiences as accessible as possible for people with different disabilities.

In the special story, we present numerous experiences; from urban and cultural attractions, exhibitions, and tailored guided tours through them, to suggestions for exploring nature and relaxation in Slovenian spas. We highlight beaches with adapted access to the sea, as well as some other attractions and useful information, such as public transportation options.

Ljubljana – Disabled Friendly Capital of Slovenia

The municipality of Ljubljana is the recipient of several European Access City Awards and is committed to removing barriers for people with reduced mobility. The renovated pavements in the city centre make it easier for wheelchair users to get around, and a new tactile path for the blind and partially sighted has been created on the Ljubljanica riverbank. Public toilets for the disabled have been installed in the city centre.
