What is the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)?

The new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was first diagnosed in patients with pneumonia in China. It is a new virus strain that causes COVID-19 coronavirus disease. Common signs of infection are similar to those of pneumonia: a fever, coughing and breathing difficulties. The virus is spread through droplets.

Recommended measures to prevent coronavirus infection

Slovenia is becoming an increasingly recognised and desired destination, globally known for genuine friendliness towards all visitors. In addition, at a time when faced with the challenges presented by coronavirus, we remain an open and hospitable destination that pays special attention to the safety, health and well-being of its visitors.

When preventing coronavirus infection, as with other infectious diseases that cause respiratory infections, it is recommended to observe the following daily preventive measures (source: Ministry of Health and NIJZ):
