Get your taste buds ready to visit the European Food Summit
The European Food Summit (EFS) is an event that raises awareness about the global impacts of food. Following the hugely successful 2019 premiere event, the organisers are, with even greater enthusiasm, bringing together great minds from around the world who understand the importance and power of food in its entirety. Through their stories, they inspire and encourage them to think progressively and act for a better and sustainable future.
In three consecutive days (28, 29 and 30 March 2020), numerous events will take place: culinary walks and eventful dinners (including the historic premiere of the ultimate culinary experience), while the last day will be marked by an expert summit for the interested public headed by Ana Roš, who was named World's Best Female Chef in 2017, and Andrea Petrini, one of the key players in many high-profile culinary projects and one of the most influential people in the world of gastronomy. A number of world-renowned chefs who have set international culinary and sustainable trends in gastronomy have confirmed their participation in the EFS.
The European Food Summit offers a critical insight into the future of humanity and proves that Slovenia deserves the prestigious title of 2021 European Region of Gastronomy. Sign up and prove that good food is more than just good taste.
Remarkable and inspiring culinary stories
In partnership with the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) and Ljubljana Tourism, the EFS is held in green Slovenia, at the intersection of European geographies and cultures. The EFS' mission is to become Europe's top culinary event and a unique platform that co-creates Europe's sustainable future. Between 28 and 30 March 2020, we will witness an exceptional programme with inspiring culinary stories. The culinary masterpieces that problematise our eating habits leave an essential mark of social responsibility. The pleasure of pampering your taste buds sooner or later fades away, but the pleasant aftertaste of sustainable cuisine remains and changes the world for the better.

Slovenia enthrals with gastronomic masterpieces, and its commitment to sustainable development and the implementation of all activities related to it. Food production in Slovenia is of high quality. Slovenians fascinate our guests with extreme pride, passion and great environmental management.
In 2018, Slovenia received, in addition to the title European Region of Gastronomy 2021, its own version of the Gault & Millau guide, one of three most influential guides in gastronomy. It includes 130 restaurants, of which six restaurants obtained four toques and two were awarded a high rating – 17.5 points out of a possible 20.
Along with regular international awards won by Slovenian chefs and winemakers, there is no doubt that Slovenia is currently the hottest gourmet destination in Europe.
