International Golf Travel Market 2018 in Slovenia

In October 2018, Slovenia and its capital Ljubljana will host the prestigious event called the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM). This is the largest convention in the world for golf tourism providers, at which around 1200 representatives of the travel golf industry meet every year, and the members generate 80% of the total sales in golf tourism in the world. Slovenia was officially introduced as the next host of the IGTM at the ceremony of the jubilee 20th IGTM in 2017 in the French town of Cannes. The main events will be held from 15 to 18 October 2018 in Ljubljana.

"As the 2015 IAGTO Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year winner, we are confident Slovenia will be a perfect destination to host the world’s largest gathering of golf tourism professionals."

Peter Grimster Exhibition Manager, Reed Travel Exhibitions

Slovenia – Green. Active. Healthy.

No matter where you look in Slovenia, you are surrounded by green. The beauty of the Alpine peaks, the mystery of the karst world, the idyllic environment of the wine-growing hills and the Pannonian Plains, and the dream-like appearance of coastal towns and villages will take your breath away. Slovenia’s charming towns with a vibrant cultural pulse are only a stone’s throw away from green nature. More than half of the country is covered with green forests that are reflected in the crystal clear waters of Slovenia’s lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. The power of healthy water and thermal springs can be felt in any of the numerous spas and health resorts. Slovenia is just the place to treat your taste buds to excellent food. Here, you can find delicious traditional specialities and world-class dishes by renowned chefs, including Ana Roš, the best female chef in the world in 2017.

The diversity of the Slovenian landscape is also seen at golf courses. There are 13 golf courses in Slovenia, which can be found in an area stretching from Alpine valleys, Pannonian Plains, through vineyards, and to the exceptional natural environment around Lipica. The oldest and largest course in Slovenia can be found near our Alpine gem, Lake Bled. The golf course was built in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and it was later extended and renamed into Royal Bled. This course with 27 holes and an incredible view of the surrounding mountains is one of the most popular courses in Europe.
