Green facts

Slovenia writes a green story. Feel it at every step.

In the summer months, you can discover the hidden spots of the Soča Valley by means of a Hop-On Hop-Off bus and thus contribute to the reduction of traffic in the valley.

The environmentally friendly Camping Koren Kobarid, where everything is organised bearing in mind the nature, is the first Slovenian camping site to boast the European Ecolabel for the environment-friendly campsite.

In the valley of the Soča River, e-bikes are popular as they enable you to explore without using a car and at the same time it is possible to overcome longer ascents and thus see a lot.

Metaldays, one of the largest festivals in Slovenia, which takes place at the confluence of the rivers Soča and Tolminka, boasts the Greener Festival Award.

Kobariški štrukelj (Kobarid dumplings)

In the past, these dumplings were offered as a snack during summer grass cutting and now it is the main desert, both in traditional and more demanding restaurants in the region of Kobarid. Kobarid dumplings are dumplings with a signature, as each housewife in Kobarid prepares them her way and “signs” them with her finger print in the middle of each dumpling.
