5th Concert of the 34th International Music Cycle Young Virtuosi

Laura Colombo, harp, Silvia Cape, harp

A young woman in glasses plays a large golden harp, shown beside a close-up through its strings; the intimate concert scene feels focused and serene.

Italian harpist Laura Colombo began her studies in 2005 at the Amadeus Musical Academy in Agrate Conturbia under Simona Marchesi. She has been taking part in competitions at home and abroad ever since she was a child, and in 2026 took first prize in the highest category at the 7th International Competition of the Slovenian Harp Association. In 2014 she performed at the Coccia Theatre in Novara in the world premiere of the Song of Triumphant Love by Paolo Coletta. She has also performed with the Amadeus Academy Orchestra at the Dal Verme Theatre in Milan, and at La Madeleine and the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, where she also appeared as a soloist at the Italian Embassy. She was a member of the AMA Ensemble between 2017 and 2019. She performed with the Como Conservatory of Music’s orchestra, in productions of Puccini’s La rondine and a project dedicated to rediscovering Antonio Bazzini’s opera Turanda. She has been a member of the SHarp4 quartet and the HarpAmadeus ensemble since 2019, and has also studied under Jana Boušková, Irina Zingg, Susanna Mildonian, Maria Cristina Cleary and Mara Galassi.

Silvia Capé was born in Milan in 2006, and began studying harp at the age of eight under Simona Marchesi. She is currently pursuing her undergraduate studies at Como Conservatory of Music, and has also developed her skills at masterclasses with internationally renowned teachers such as Isabelle Moretti, Jana Boušková, Fabrice Pierre, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Alexander Boldachev and Ieuan Jones. Since a young age she has taken part in international competitions in Italy and abroad, and has achieved numerous first and absolute first prizes, most notably at the Wales International Harp Competition, the Antonio Salieri International Harp Competition, the French Harp Competition, and the Junior Harp Competition. She was selected to perform at the World Harp Congress in Cardiff in 2022 as part of the Focus on Youth cycle, and then in 2025 was chosen for the Stars of Tomorrow programme at the inaugural European Harp Symposium in Feldkirch. In 2026 she won second prize, a gold medal, and a special award for the best performance of the compulsory programme at the 7th International Competition of the Slovenian Harp Association.
