Tuba player Gašper Poprijan began his musical journey studying trombone under Miran Šumenik at the Fran Korun Koželjski Music School in Velenje, but switched to tuba after three years at his teacher’s suggestion. He entered his first music competition shortly after, and achieved success in the following years as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. Continuing his secondary music education in Velenje, he graduated with distinction under the mentorship of Mitja Škorjanc. He joined the Zarja Šoštanj Orchestra at an early age, and later became a member of several brass ensembles, including Brass Band Slovenia. He is a co-founder of the FiveBrass Brass Quintet, with whom he won third place at the Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition in July, and the Bass Brass Collective quartet. He has taken part in numerous projects, seminars and masterclasses with some of the famous names in brass music, like Guillaume Dionette, Wilfried Brandstötter, Steven Mead and Les Neish, and has also stood in with the SiBRASS Brass Quintet, the SNG Maribor Symphony Orchestra and the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently he is a second year undergraduate student at the Ljubljana Academy of Music under Josef Steinböck.

Domen Lampret took up the euphonium at the age of seven, studying with Lovro Žgajner. After finishing primary school, he enrolled at the First Grammar School in Celje, where he continued his education under Uroš Košir. In more than a decade of musical creativity he has taken part in numerous national and international competitions, and has earned several gold plaques, first prizes and special accolades as a soloist and a member of chamber ensembles. He has taken first prize and a gold plaque in the TEMSIG competition, most recently in 2023 and 2026, and has had success in performing with chamber ensembles. He has also picked up first prizes and gold plaques in international competitions, most notably Varaždin Woodwind & Brass and Davorin Jenko in Belgrade. In 2023 he appeared as a soloist with a concert band, and also performed in a concert during the Ljubljana Musical Youth cycle. He has developed his skills in masterclasses run by renowned euphonium players and other soloists, including Bastien Baumet, Robbert Vos and Thomas Rüedi. Currently he is in the first year of his master’s, studying euphonium at the Ljubljana Academy of Music under Nejc Merc.
