At the beginning of the Middle Ages the church feudal lords and the cloisters founded the so called "špitals"., which were built at town gates or sometimes outside town walls and were refuges for foreigners (hospites), for the poor, the sick, the old and the invalids. The building may have functioned as a spital from its beginnings in the 14th century, since it was presumably built by the inhabitants of the Radgona suburb Gris to provide shelter to their orphans and poor. The ground plan of the rectangular building with its protruding semicircular apse is unique in the Slovene territory. The high roof structure is trapeze shaped in two levels and is high-quality and quite rare structure. The renovation, finished in 2013 has restored the buildings Renaissance and Baroque expressivenes. In Museum you can see permanent collections: The Radgona Bridges and The Fine Arts Collection.
