The gallery-museum is housed in the most famous building of our town - the castle.  It is a kind of orientation point, architecturally and aesthetically dominant in the town, which between its walls nurses the voices of the most ancient times and its people.
The castle in its present form, with the floor plan in the shape of the letter L, was rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century by its owner at that time, the Eszterházy nobility. With strong supports, an interesting mansard roof, and an outstanding tower it watches over the town in an elegant but convincing manner.
