ROGATEC OPEN AIR  MUSEUM
A cultural monument and the bigest slovene ethnological park – typical rural architecture of the sub-Pannonian region of central Styria. By renovating old farm buildings and through its programmes, the museum preserves the heritage of vernacular architecture and revives the heritage of the folk culture. We organise ethnological workshops, cultural events, vacation programms and dayly excursions for the adults and the young: an ancient market town Rogatec (700 years tradition), cultural, historical sights and the intact nature (the mountain Donačka gora, Log quarries, the spring of the river Sotla: mountaineering, cycling, horseriding, para-gliding).

Content of programme:

• guided tour to the Rogatec Open-Air Museum
• ethnological workshops  (selection of three workshops according to prior arrangement):
-  baking of bread at the Šmit House
-  making of paper flowers
-  braiding of corn-husks
-  hand-working of nails in the museum`s forge
-  corn-husking or other farm chores
-   stilt walking

      Additional services:
      -  souvenirs, handicrafts and postcards available from the "Lodn" museum shop
      -  visit to the stables and supervised horseriding in the paddock of the nearby riding school
