Puževci is a linear settlement with its lower part on flat ground and its upper part on the slopes of Goričko. It is divided into Zgornji (Upper) and Spodnji (Lower) Puževci. The lower part of the settlement lies along the asphalt road linking Murska Sobota and Cankova, with part of it situated on the Bodonski Potok stream. Zgornji Puževci lies along the road that branches by the fire station and joins up with the asphalt road between Murska Sobota and Grad. The village is currently home to 57 families and a total of 193 inhabitants (in 1698 the village had a population of 30, while in 1910 the population reached a peak of 289). Forty-two villagers are currently in employment, while 51 are retired. Most of the villagers are involved in farming (livestock, milk, sugar beet), although livestock farming is declining dramatically. There are currently just 18 farms in this sector (compared to 42 just 10 years ago). There is only one "pure" farm whose inhabitants are involved in farming and nothing else (11 years ago there were 18 pure farms). On all the other farms, at least one member of the household has some other form of employment.
