Boreča is a little village forming part of the local administrative community of Šulinci in the municipality of Gornji Petrovci, in the furthest NE corner of Slovenia. Unlike the neighbouring villages, Boreča is quite a compact settlement, surrounded by pine forests. Also in the middle of a pine forest is a church dedicated to St Anne, a cultural monument dating from the early 16th century. The clearing in which the church stands is used by the villagers for numerous events, the best known of which is the annual parish festival organised to mark the Feast of St Anne in late July. The village has two cemeteries – the Catholic cemetery next to St Anne's and the Protestant cemetery slightly lower down below the forest, on the ridge running towards the village. A wooden bell tower built by the Protestant community stands in the village. Boreča is one of the smallest villages in the municipality of Gornji Petrovci.
